Ello! My name is Lisa Sargent. I am a dream doula, transdisciplinary strategist, systems disruptor, performance artist, and visionary of Liminal Spaces Lab.
I tend to the intimacies of connection, curiosity, and community.
As a former community organizer, multi-issue advocate and trained sociologist who has been deeply embedded within civic and political spaces, I am a lifelong activist who works and plays to shift power back into the hands of communities. My experiences in these spaces - and the stories of those I have labored with along the way - continue to orient how I approach cultural work. Grounded in liberatory frameworks, organizing principles and tenderness, I strive to co-create systems and practices rooted in long-term collective care.
More recently, I work with community members, grassroots organizations, nonprofits, government officials, and philanthropy to boldly dream, (re)create, strategize, and evaluate initiatives seeking to become more responsive to the changing needs and desires of those directly affected by harmful systems.
In addition to my unwavering commitment to lifting the veil and dismantling systems of domination, I channel my heart work into designing life-affirming dreamspaces, building bridges across issue areas, and weaving relationships across cultures.
As a future ancestor, I envision a world where each of us has the unrestricted freedom, courage and communal support needed to live meaningful, soul-aligned lives. In my personal time, you can usually find me at comedy shows, dancing with reckless abandon, camping, searching for fresh guayaba jam, and traveling to new places (both literally and metaphorically).
